Good call on grabbing the golfball.That looked like a Selectic II. It is a shame to be in the dumpster, but quite understandable. They are heavy and take up a lot of space and if you don't have the space, its just not worth it.
I think you are right about the tetanus liability. Things are taken seriously here in Switzerland. Especially Geneva has always upheld high moral standards since the times of Calvin.You gave this Selectric a fine memorial space. Even though electric, it really is a mechanical masterpiece. I got a red one of this series, which still awaits inspection.

I don't know which distrubs me more - the unwanted typewriter or the unwanted books. Either way it's a shame!
