  1. You managed to wring some sunshine out of a grey day :-)

  2. augh! a 10-franc Swissa Piccola? You must have your pick of so many if you left it behind. :D

Another excellent photo-essay of a fine day. I hadn't realized that the "Occupy" movement was mirrored in European cities. I would have guessed that Switzerland was fairly immune to the troubles in the US and Europe, due to the lack of dependence on the Euro.

  3. Nice finds and a great typecast, as usual. You got outside AND you were productive on a grey day. Impressive :-) Not sure I would have found that much motivation.

  4. Wow. Where do you find all these flea markets? I hardly ever find a thrift store in Zurich! :)
The Swissa looks nice, white keys, green case, shift free exclamation point and Fr. symbol... Think about it, again. :)

  5. I really like the typeface on your Erika 9.

It truly is a global community, when such familiar things as Apple Stores and Occupy (insert city name) exist in Geneva!

Thanks for taking us on your little outing. Interesting, as always.

  7. Thanks, everyone! I rather liked writing this and thought it was the best typecast I've composed in several months; glad it went over well.

@Ted: I thought you would admire my resolve in passing up the Swissa! I am learning from you, remember?

@maschinengeschrieben: Just my luck to live in Geneva, I guess :) It's always the same flea market in the center of town, just with a different selection of stuff each week. It is nice to go there and see what can be discovered! As for the Swissa... I'll think about it... but someone else will probably get it before my next visit. Which is fine.

  8. but, but... it's a SWISSA D:

Surely there is someone else in the States who needs to discover that Hermes isn't the only fabulous typer to come out of Suisse? (:

  9. If so, they should let me know! My strategy for buying typewriters I won't really use/ don't really need is: only if mandated. So if someone asks me to keep an eye out for such-and-such a model, which they are happy to have shipped to them at their cost, then I am only too excited to start looking! I already did that once this year and it worked out *knock on wood* very well. But you'll find that out soon enough... :-)

  10. I think, some day I'll need to get up pretty soon and take the three trains to Genève. Really.

  11. Ahh! I think next year, when Tori's and my life settles down a bit, I will have to put in a search request for a Swissa for her. (:
