Late to the meme: Cows

Not sure if this was zoomed in, just to be on the safe side, but she didn't seem bothered either way.

Surprisingly calm in the face of all those flies; I don't know how they do it.

The cow bells in Switzerland are called "Trychel", and miniature replicas are to be found in every well-appointed souvenir store. You can never have too much cowbell!

  3. It's hard to even imagine walking through a landscape like that--it's too beautiful to be real! And your cattle are certainly picturesque. Love the horns and the cowbells!

  4. I had to pull my wife over to my monitor to look at the mountains. Something we never see here in the flatlands of northeast Indiana.

It reminds me of the time I was on a business trip to Colorado Springs. I literally spent hours just looking at the mountains...

  5. Thanks, everyone. The scenery in the Swiss countryside is often breathtaking, but never more so than when one gets quite high into the Alps - i.e. more than 1000m. Thank goodness for cable cars! (Not hiking all that way as it would take ages, although I'm happy to continue a couple of hundred meters on foot.)

And while these places are best known for winter sports, I prefer to visit in the summer when a good pair of shoes is all that is needed to explore (not seven layers of clothing and snowshoes/skis/snowboards).

  6. Those are simply stunning photos. And I think you've carried the cow theme nicely, too. Skateboarding cows? And I thought California had strange ads:
