Phooey, you are beautiful without the self-flagellation. Your radiant smile and insightful mind make you so (:The only diet plan I've ever tried that worked like the madison avenue people claim is a bout of Hypokalemia which knocked off about 50 pounds around the end of last year. I don't recommend it.
Adwoa, many thanks for sharing your personal thoughts, so honest and brave of you. The pressure on women- and men, even when we do not acknowledge it -in regard to body image is real. And painful. And crippling. Kudos to you for getting in touch with your pain and articulating it. That piece on you seeing the silhouette of your mother and grandmother in the mirror is... beautiful. You're beautiful. And dammit, it even shows in your impeccable writing! And I have to say, I really like that Scheidegger typeface.
Adwoa, every picture I've seen of you is radiant. You've got the best smile ever. I'm glad to know that you are allowing your body to be itself.
You are fine the way you are. Be yourself for you cannot be anyone else. Thanks for sharing a bit of background into your life.I do a bit of journaling every night after we eat and I help Mrs. with her physical therapy. Journaling gives me an excuse to type about 15 to 30 minutes every day and change-out typewriters every few days. I get to use each one in the collection every few weeks that way. Those are some fine looking typewriters.
Great type faces, too!
Thanks a lot for this post! Also, the juxtaposition of the three typefaces is very interesting - my favourite is the Optima. Now you made me curious to go look up the typeface of my Optima. It is in storage, oups, in the Typewriter Museum I mean.
